Human tumor-derived exosomes selectively impair lymphocyte responses to interleukin-2. | IL-2-induced Foxp3 expression by CD4(+)CD25(+) cells was not inhibited by tumor exosomes, and the suppressive function of CD4(+)CD25(+) T cells was enhanced by exosomes. Other exosome effects included selective impairment of IL-2-mediated CD25 up-regulation, affecting all but the CD3(+)CD8(-) T-cell subset. Our study examined whether tumor-derived exosomes could modify lymphocyte IL-2 responses. Proliferation of healthy donor peripheral blood lymphocytes in response to IL-2 was inhibited by tumor exosomes. The data show an exosome-mediated mechanism of skewing IL-2 responsiveness in favor of regulatory T cells and away from cytotoxic cells.
Human tumor-derived exosomes down-modulate NKG2D expression. | Exosomes produced by various cancer cell lines in vitro, or isolated from pleural effusions of mesothelioma patients triggered down-regulation of surface NKG2D expression by NK cells and CD8(+) T cells. In this study, we show that exosomes derived from cancer cells express ligands for NKG2D and express TGFbeta1, and we investigate the impact of such exosomes on CD8(+) T and NK cell NKG2D expression and on NKG2D-dependent functions. This decrease was rapid, sustained, and resulted from direct interactions between exosomes and NK cells or CD8(+) T cells.
PKC-ζ mediated reduction of the extracellular vesicles-associated TGF-β1 overcomes radiotherapy resistance in breast cancer. | No abstract available
Colorectal cancer-derived small extracellular vesicles induce TGFβ1-mediated epithelial to mesenchymal transition of hepatocytes. | No abstract available
Schistosome egg antigen stimulates the secretion of miR-33-carrying extracellular vesicles from macrophages to promote hepatic stellate cell activation and liver fibrosis in schistosomiasis. | Here, we demonstrated that SEA induced Mφ to produce abundant extracellular vesicles, which directly activated HSCs by activating their autocrine TGF-β1 signaling.
Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes ameliorate TGF-β1-induced endometrial fibrosis by altering their miRNA profile. | No abstract available
GuiLu-ErXian Glue extract promotes mesenchymal stem cells (MSC)-Induced chondrogenesis via exosomes release and delays aging in the MSC senescence process. | we conclude that GLEXG promotes in vitro MSC-induced chondrogenesis possibly via exosomes release and delays aging in the MSC senescence process and that treatment with GLEXG (0.3 μg, i.a.)

Extravillous trophoblast cell-derived exosomes induce vascular smooth muscle cell apoptosis via a mechanism associated with miR-143-3p. | These data clearly demonstrated that VSMC apoptosis is mediated by EVT-derived exosomes and their cargo of miR-143-3p as well as their cell surface presentation of FASL.
Small EV in plasma of triple negative breast cancer patients induce intrinsic apoptosis in activated T cells. | Here we show that tumor cell-derived exosomes (TEX) carrying surface PDL-1, PD-1, Fas, FasL, TRAIL, CTLA-4 and TGF-β1 induce apoptosis of CD8 © 2023.
