Domain (CC)
Composed of 4 alpha helices: 2 hydrophobic transmembrane regions (alpha3 and alpha4) and 2 alpha helices (alpha1 and alpha2) (PubMed:39667936). Alpha1 and alpha2 feature one hydrophobic side and a hydrophilic side (PubMed:39667936). In contrast to NINJ1, does not disrupt membrane integrity (PubMed:38614101, PubMed:39667936). NINJ2 filaments are curved toward the intracellular space due to cholesterol-binding, preventing circularization and ability to mediate plasma membrane rupture (PubMed:39667936).

Protein Families
Ninjurin family
